Space: the final frontier. Star Trek HeroClix Away Team: The Original Series boldly goes where no Starfleet Crew has gone before – the HeroClix tabletop! Join Captain Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they explore strange, new worlds and seek out new lifeforms and new civilizations. This new 5-figure booster set features 50 new figures that allow players to relive the classic stories as they were told in The Original Series.

Lead the crew of the Enterprise into battle, including the likes of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, Lt. Sulu, Dr. McCoy, and many more. Players can also command some of the crew’s greatest foes like the Klingons and their leader, Kor, as they scheme and prepare to strike. And not to be outmatched, the Romulans, led by the Romulan Commander, use their cunning and opportunistic strategies to get an advantage over their enemies.

Players will also be able to use many of the species that the crew runs into as they explore every corner of the galaxy. Discover the reptilian Gorn species as it fights Captain Kirk on a desolate planet, the ape-like creature Mugato of planet Neural, and the beloved, self-multiplying Tribbles! Players will also encounter other human-like lifeforms like the Talosians and the powerful android Ruk. There are also alternate versions of popular characters like Lt. Uhura and Mr. Spock from the Mirror Universe to explore.

Star Trek HeroClix Away Team: The Original Series will be available later this Fall in bricks of 10 standard 5-figure boosters.  Especially exciting is the fact that the Star Trek HeroClix Away Team: The Original Series will be Modern-Age legal for HeroClix events, making it perfect to energize existing players in expanding their collections or new players to beam up to HeroClix. For many stores, combining the launch with a ‘SideKick Night’ is an opportune way to introduce new players to the game system. Which means you’ll need to stock up on SideKick Night Kits, designed to support up to six new participants.

In terms of HeroClix gameplay, Star Trek HeroClix Away Team: The Original Series explores some concepts that are familiar, and others not-so. Title Characters return with their special Plot Point abilities to build the scenario of the game and impact the entire battlefield. New team abilities for the United Federation of Planets, Klingons, Romulan Star Empire, and Mirror Universe will give characters common ground while also bringing their own powers to the table. There are many new traits, as well, that grant characters of the same keyword, like Romulans and Klingons, powerful effects for being near each other and playing as a tandem. And many characters feature generic keywords if you’re looking to team them up with some of the characters you already have.

Also, look for the Star Trek HeroClix Away Team: The Original Series Starter Set featuring the crew of the Enterprise with the updated HeroClix Rulebook and Powers and Abilities Card. Additionally, a Dice & Token Pack with a special icon featuring tokens of the crew and a new premium map to enhance your Star Trek HeroClix experience are also in the works.
