What is GUNDAM? The Mobile Suit GUNDAM anime first aired in Japan in 1979, revolutionizing the genre by portraying fictional mecha as "mobile suits," incorporating realistic weapons of war, meticulous scientific details, and complex human drama. This shifted the focus from the simplistic good-versus-evil narratives of earlier “robot anime” and established the genre of "real robot anime," which became a massive sensation. Since then, GUNDAM has continued to thrive, producing 24 TV animation works, 30 theatrical and screening releases, 27 OVA titles, as well as numerous streaming contents, events, and TV specials. It has garnered enduring popularity both in Japan and internationally.
What is the GUNDAM CARD GAME? The GUNDAM CARD GAME is a collectible trading card game in which players use Mobile Suits and their pilots from across the GUNDAM series to battle. Become a commander and build a deck of varying strategies with your favorite characters. Use Resource Cards to pay costs for your cards, and win when you eliminate all cards in your opponent’s Shield Area. The GUNDAM CARD GAME also supports 2-on-2 Team Battles and 4-player Battle Royale modes as well! Grab some friends for a fresh multiplayer experience! Here is a brief introduction to the four types of cards that make up your deck:
UNIT CARDS Unit Cards are primarily Mobile Suits that attack your enemy. Deploy up to 6 Units in your Battle Area. They can’t attack on the turn they’re deployed but can on the next turn. When a Unit is paired with a Pilot and its link requirements are fulfilled, it becomes a Link Unit and can attack immediately on the turn deployed!
PILOT CARDS Pilots are the characters that pair with your Unit to lead them into battle. Each Pilot can be paired with a Unit by placing it underneath it. The unit gets the AP (Attack Points) and HP (Hit Points) listed on the Pilot as a bonus, as well as the Pilot Effect. Such effects like drawing a card on attack, reducing an enemy units AP, or freeing up your Resources into active This allows for an endless number of strategies customizable to your current battle situation. COMMAND CARDS Commands are one-time use cards with effects that can turn the tide of battle. Drawing cards, adding extra Resources, and buffing your opponent’s AP are all powerful options found on Command Cards. Some Command Cards also can be used as a Pilot to boost your Unit’s AP and HP, or satisfy a link requirement allowing them to attack on the same turn! Make wise use of these versatile cards to surprise or deter your opponent’s game plan.
BASE CARDS Bases are deployed in your Shield Area as the first line of defense for your 6 shields. Destroy your opponents Base and then aim for their shields to win. However, bases have powerful support effects for your battle strategy, and often have high HP, making them tough to take down. You may only have one Base deployed at once, and a good one can make all the difference between victory and defeat.
