Star Trek: Attack Wing is a tactical space combat HeroClix miniatures game, featuring pre-painted ships from the Star Trek Universe. By using the FlightPath maneuver system (licensed from Fantasy Flight Games), players engage in exploration and combat, traversing sprawling Star Trek space maps made available via an in-store Organized Play program. As commander, players have the ability to customize, upgrade, and assign famous crewmembers to their fleets, which feature ships from the series' prominent empires and forces, as well as special stats and abilities, and unique maneuvers on separate HeroClix Combat Dials.

~ Captain on the Bridge! ~
In Star Trek: Attack Wing, Captains are separated from their ships and have their own cards, complete with a Captain Skill Number, their own special ability and cost. Some of the greatest Captains even feature the ability to use Elite Talent Upgrades — special skills only available to Captains. "Captain ID Tokens" are placed on every ship that not only display their Captain Skill Number prominently on each ship base but also show an image of the Captain himself.
~ All Hands Report to Battle Stations! ~
Crew Upgrades allow you to field your fantasy Star Trek “dream team” on the bridge. Crew can even be assigned to different faction ships—albeit at a cost penalty. This rewards players wanting a more traditional ship, while still allowing other players to be creative if they're willing to pay a little extra.
~ All Power to Weapons! ~
Divert power from your Shields, without actually losing your Shield Tokens. Shield Tokens are double-sided, with an active side (blue) and a disabled side (red). Certain upgrades (such as the Montgomery Scott Crew Upgrade card) will allow you to move power from your Deflector Shields to your Primary Weapon or other systems.
~ Activate the Cloaking Device! ~
Some ships are equipped with Cloaking Devices. Being Cloaked imparts three benefits: 1) you can't be target locked (which saves you from many Secondary Weapons such as Photon Torpedoes); 2) you gain four extra defense dice each time you defend in battle. Since most ships in Attack Wing only have an Agility of 1 or 2, gaining an extra four dice is a big benefit to being cloaked, and 3) it can unlock the Sensor Echo Action allowing ships to take an Action to move laterally. A Sensor Echo may fool an enemy ship into thinking they have moved out of your firing arc — but surprise! You are now perfectly lined up for the shot! The down side to Cloaking is that in order to Cloak, a ship must disable its Shields. This means, while they have an increased chance to avoid attacks, if any attacks do manage to hit, the damage will go directly to the ship’s hull.
~ Star Trek: Attack Wing The Dominion War Storyline Organized Play Program ~
The Alpha Quadrant is in a time of struggle and chaos. The Jem’Hadar and the Breen Confederacy have established a presence for themselves in the Alpha Quadrant, and with the help of their recent allies, the Cardassian Union, they plan to conquer everything in their path. This engagement proves to be the most devastating ever fought in the Alpha Quadrant.
This September, WizKids Games will bring the exciting world of Storyline Organized Play to Star Trek: Attack Wing by kicking off a six-month event series centered on The Dominion War! Each month, Star Trek: Attack Wing players will re-create the major battles in this titanic struggle between the Federation Alliance and the Dominion.
In the storyline Organized Play program, stores carrying Star Trek: Attack Wing will host monthly tournaments for players to challenge each other for dominance of the Alpha Quadrant. Players will collect a participating prize each month as well as compete for a new playable ship that will only be offered via the Organized Play events. The player with the best record over the six-month event will be bestowed the title of Fleet Admiral and awarded a special grand prize at the end of the program.
In keeping with the grand tradition found in “The Infinity Gauntlet” and “No Man's Land” HeroClix OP events, Star Trek: Attack Wing OP will include not only competitive prizes, but participation prizes as well. The participation prizes will provide powerful Resources for players to use. In addition to normal Squad Building, each player may equip their fleet with one of these resources. Each month, a new Resource will become available for players to choose from (i.e. Command Tokens, Flagship Cards, Attack Squadrons, etc.), but they must choose wisely. Once chosen, for good or ill, the player must use that Resource for the entire month’s tournament! “Operation Return” will provide an Elite Attack Die as a participation prize. This die provides the extra power that could mean the difference between victory - and destruction!
