GTM #179

Goblins are Invading GTM! This issue hails the first serialized installment of an exciting, exclusive Pathfinder Goblins comic from Dynamite Entertainment scribed by Paul Allor, and illustrated by Sean Izaakse!

As I’m scribing this ‘Foreword’, it’s a balmy 65-degrees Fahrenheit. Not that I’m complaining, mind you, just stating a fact. However, if my Gregorian calendar is a filthy liar, it’s telling me we’re barreling into the last week of November here in the Mid-Atlantic region and the chill of winter traditionally is just ‘round the bend. Even so, with the precursor of overnight sub-zero temperatures, devastating lake effect snow squalls, and blustering winds, you’d think that Ol’ Man Winter has settled in to linger a while (like the eternal houseguest). But, again, the temperate (albeit fleeting) break in the bitter cold snap would suggest to the contrary — undoubtedly, the calm before the storm. The fickle whims of weather, aside, we’re here to assure you that there’s one thing you can count on — GTM!

Now, we’re not suggesting we can reliably predict drastic climate shifts in the Western hemisphere during any given seasonal transition (you’d be better served by simply stepping outside your doorway) — what we can say with confidence is that GTM can (and does) forecast the future of gaming (accurately) a month at a time. You don’t need a thermostat to feel the heat blistering off the hot properties sizzling in this issue! For starters, Fantasy Flight ignites the simmering conflict in a Galaxy Far, Far Away… as Rebel and Imperial fleets clash in Star Wars: Armada! Then, AEG sparks the fires of passion with upcoming adaptations to their award-winning Love Letter game series! And, leap into the heat of battle meting out justice with WizKids Games' Justice League Dice Masters! Plus, we continue to stoke the spirit of competition with Enterplay’s My Little Pony Collectable Card Game Organized Play, Asmodee’s Deus, and Mayfair Games’ Gold Ahoy! and Patchwork, coupled with insightful reviews of Arcane Wonders' Sheriff of Nottingham, Mayfair Games' Johari, and Z-Man Games' Camel Up.

No doubt, the winter’s heating up — but, don’t retire your galoshes and snowblower just yet. Best to settle in with some hot cocoa, your favorite cozy, a few board games, and this issue of GTM, and ride out the inevitable deep freeze until the (official) Spring thaw. Game On!
