The gripping Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective is back with Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures from Space Cowboys. Made up of four all-new cases and six revised favorites, this standalone collection will allow seasoned detectives and new investigators alike to hit the streets as the Baker Street Irregulars. This cooperative troupe of one to eight detectives will assist Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in their race to solve ten complex and multi-faceted cases. By studying the local papers, following leads throughout the city, and dissecting each and every detail, players will collaborate to track down the answers to some of London’s most infamous cases, including those of the notorious and chilling Jack the Ripper murders.

~ The Consulting Detective Series ~

The intricate gameplay and thematic narrative of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective have been captivating imaginative minds for over three decades. A 1985 Spiel des Jahres winner, the game launched to incredible success and has maintained its draw over the years since. In 2011, Ystari reprinted the game in a variety of languages, and Space Cowboys now continues the legacy, both republishing original cases and developing new ones.

The Consulting Detective line employs the same great mechanics as the original game, while the revised and adapted cases improve upon previous versions. While the contents of Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures can be considered an expansion to the Consulting Detective reprint, the game stands fully on its own, containing all the components needed to play the game, and also features a new look and feel with updated art.

~ Adventures in the West End ~

The six West End Adventures included in the collection cover a variety of offenses, some more malicious than others. By exploring Watson’s journals, players will find themselves in the midst of investigations regarding attempted murder, missing remains, well-kept secrets, mysterious letters, and more. Perusing the daily news may provide some clues, but the detectives must also take to the streets in hopes of finding the truth. Using a directory to navigate the maps of London and Whitechapel, the Irregulars will acquire countless clues, leads, and scraps of information. Only by dissecting and analyzing all the evidence accurately will the team be able to solve the mystery, answering each and every question the case poses.

~ The Notorious Jack vs. The Brilliant Holmes ~

In addition to six revamped mysteries, the game introduces a series of four cases based on the actual facts of Jack the Ripper’s unsettling murders. This campaign covers the four evenings on which Jack the Ripper committed his five most notorious murders, as the fictitious Dr. Watson reaches out to the Irregulars in hopes of solving this very real case. By studying the details of each of his unspeakable acts, dedicated and creative investigators may be able to pinpoint crucial details, getting closer with each crime to cracking the case and catching the killer.

~ Accusation and Arrest ~

It will take a committed team of detectives to get to the bottom of the ten cases presented in Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures, but every clue leading to the truth can be found in Doctor Watson’s meticulous notes. Sorting through every detail, from the sordid to the mundane, is the only way the Baker Street Irregulars will reach their conclusion, and only by returning to Holmes and Watson will they discover whether their interpretations were correct, or if the vicious criminals slipped through the cracks.
