This spring, one of the Avengers’ deadliest and most persistent foes will take center stage in the latest HeroClix Storyline Organized Play program. WizKids Games’ Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron focuses on the titular villain in an unprecedented and exciting manner, with more than a dozen versions of the evil android for HeroClix fans to choose from. 

Throughout the Avengers’ storied history, Ultron has returned time and again to battle Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and each time Ultron was increasingly more difficult to defeat! The Avengers have frequently had to resort to incredible lengths to defeat him. In Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron, HeroClix players will be given those same tools in order to defeat Ultron, or whomever they face across the battlefield. 

Central to the Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron Storyline Organized Play event series is an all-new resource and associated accessories: the Avengers Round Table and Avengers ID Cards. As with previous resources (like the Infinity Gauntlet and Book of the Skull), the Avengers Round Table HeroClix resource allows players to collect associated HeroClix items (in this case, the Avengers ID Cards) allowing players to unlock additional special abilities.

More details will be available in the coming weeks, but essentially Avengers ID Cards allow players to “call for reinforcements” (just like in the comics!) by pulling additional HeroClix figures into the battle from the sidelines for a single turn.  The summoned figure may then take an action, hopefully to turn the tide of battle!

That’s not all – HeroClix characters called into battle via the Avengers ID Cards may also have a special “Inspiration Effect” which grants a temporary bonuses to the rest of your HeroClix force! For example, when you activate his Avengers ID Card, Hawkeye joins your force for one turn and grants a +2 bonus to friendly characters’ range values via his Inspiration Effect.

Each Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron event will include a different Avengers ID Card unique to that event as a participation prize, but that’s not the only way for players to get their hands on these awesome accessories! HeroClix players will also find Avengers ID Cards in random Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron tournament boosters as well as a special Avengers Fast Forces Pack. This Fast Forces pack will include an exclusive Avengers ID Card as well as classic versions of Ant-Man, the Wasp, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America!

Additionally, Avengers ID Cards will be available in random Marvel HeroClix: Avengers Assemble Booster Packs (available in May 2015) as well as in random boosters of Marvel HeroClix: Nick Fury – Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Booster Set (due out summer 2015). That’s five great ways for players to get their hands on the Avengers ID Cards! The Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron HeroClix Storyline Organized Play program will be a four-event series beginning in June 2015. The in-store Age of Ultron event will be supported by a full Organized Play Kits which will include exclusive maps (in OP kits 1 & 3) as well as participation and competitive prizes for HeroClix players. 

Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron will be released in two waves of HeroClix boosters over four events. Each wave of tournament boosters includes 28 HeroClix figures and five Avengers ID Cards unique to its wave (for a total of 56 figures and 10 Avengers ID Cards!). The first wave of Marvel HeroClix: Age of Ultron tournament boosters will be available for the first two Age of Ultron in-store events, while the second wave of tournament boosters will be available for the third and fourth Age of Ultron in-store events.
