This month, the ancient and monstrous world of Yu-Gi-Oh! will be unleashed upon the HeroClix universe! Stores everywhere will be your gateway to ancient Egypt for the first ever HeroClix installment of the ever-popular ancient world of Yu-Gi-Oh!. WizKids Games/NECA has teamed up with 4K Media Inc. to bring 55 of the most popular Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters to the tabletop as collectible miniatures. Prepare yourself for this awesome adventure into the world of ancient Egypt, strap on that duel disk, shuffle your deck, and get ready to D-D-D-D-Duel! Due out this month is the first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix Starter Set. Contained in this introductory set is everything players have come to expect from a HeroClix Starter: six all-new figures (Blue Eyes White Dragon, The Dark Magician, Hitotsu-Me Giant, Feral Imp, Des Feral Imp, and Breaker the Magical Warrior), character cards, maps, tokens, the HeroClix Powers and Abilities Card, and, of course, the HeroClix Core Rulebook. These figures are beautifully sculpted and are optimized for new players just learning how to play the game, as well as for experienced tournament players. The Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix Starter is the perfect tool for two players to learn to play, as each player can choose from two different, 300-point theme teams (based on either the Seto Kaiba or Yugi Muto keywords found on the monsters’ HeroClix character cards). Once players choose which force they wish to use, they can battle it out like Kaiba and Yugi did in the very first episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series! Although the starter set focuses primarily on the main protagonist and antagonist of the early Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes, the Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One 55-figure gravity feed set (due out in February 2014) has a plethora of characters used by a multitude of duelists from the show. Featured in the gravity feed are some of the most iconic monsters used by Yugi and Kaiba, such as the enormous Catapult Turtle, the swift fusion monster Gaia the Dragon Champion, the incredibly powerful Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and the magical genie known as La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp. Players can amass and build their Yugi and Kaiba theme teams or they can construct their Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix teams based on any of the other duelists from the original anime. Some of the other ferocious monsters featured in Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One include Joey Wheeler’s Flame Swordsman, Bakura’s Morphing Jar, Pegasus’ Relinquished, Bandit Keith’s Mechanicalchaser, and Mai Valentine’s Harpie Lady. Will you recreate some of the most epic battles from the original series? Will you pit Catapult Turtle and Gaia the Dragon Champion against PaniK’s Castle of Dark Illusions and destroy the flotation ring? Or will the forces of darkness enshrouded by the castle prevail? Featured in both the starter set and the Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One Gravity Feed are characters with the all-new Trap/Spell mechanics. These new mechanics will allow players to harness some of the most potent magic from the Yu-Gi-Oh! world and demolish their opponent’s forces by enabling the players to be secretive and elusive with their decisions. Characters possessing the Trap/Spell mechanics will also be SwitchClix characters enabling players to remove the figure from the base in order to hide your mischievous gameplay decisions. Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One will be available in 24-count gravity feed displays, a fantastic introductory starter set, and an Organized Player kit capable of supporting in-store play! Time to jump in the time machine and return to ancient Egypt to save the world from the evil and vengeful Bakura because Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix is flying into stores everywhere beginning December 2013! In addition to the first series be on the look out for future Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix releases and even a Storyline Organized Play event in 2014! |
